As a young girl, Kim Dwyer was given a unique hat pin shaped like a familiar three-wheeler - an ATC 70! Over time, the pin became a keepsake that reminded her of all her childhood adventures, and when she became an adult, she was struck with a desire to recreate the pin as best she could.
That’s when she found All About Pins. After sending a few pictures of the old pin to us, we were able to match the original design down to the smallest details. The end result got such a positive reaction from Kim’s fellow three-wheeler enthusiasts that she decided to design an entirely new line of custom pins inspired by the three-wheeler community!
The nostalgic joy of recreating her old school ATC 70 pin made it easy for Kim to start experimenting with new designs. Some show off more vintage trikes, while others are more modern or entirely custom-built.
But she doesn’t just collect these pins for herself. Kim designs these pins to share with other three-wheeler enthusiasts around the country, and she makes sure to bring new designs to Trikefest every year! Trikefest is a yearly festival for three-wheeler enthusiasts the world over. People from all over the country bring their three-wheelers to Indiana to compete in special events, take part in group rides, and enjoy the unique community! It’s a celebration of everything that makes three-wheeling so unique, and, thanks in no small part to Kim and other like-minded members, pin-trading has become a popular staple.
Attendees will often show off their own collection of custom pins on their vests or lanyards, and you’re likely to find all kinds of custom pins at booths and tents all around the festival. During the year, Kim uses Facebook groups and other online forums to share her designs and get more people interested in the community, but during the festival, she trades and sells her three-wheeler pins with everyone! Whether you like Hondas, Yamahas, or something else entirely, odds are that Kim has the perfect pin for you!
Her journey from creating a childhood pin to leading a thriving community is a testament to how small passions can lead to big dreams. Kim transformed a memory of an old hat pin into a shared experience, inspiring collectors all over to share their own stories and connect with fellow three-wheeler enthusiasts!
Who would have thought that the three-wheeler community would be so big and that custom lapel pins would become such a popular part of the group’s culture? Over the years, we’ve designed custom trading pins for festivals, sports teams, and conventions, and we’re always excited to see the next amazing community that will join in on the fun
